Watch out Blinks, our beloved Jennie just might be making more appearances on fashion magazines in the future – but not as a model.
The popular idol recently debuted as a fashion editor for Vogue Korea’s March issue and the results are absolutely amazing. Stunning photos of Jennie in both black-and-white and colored photos, with daring and fearless poses, were posted on the magazine’s website.
In the gallery posted, Jennie can be seen sporting varying looks, from Edie Sedgwick-inspired heavy makeup and bold shots to simplistic, Bridgerton-inspired makeup and natural shots.
The photos gave off a certain wow factor for its edgier, more mature look and style. Jennie’s outfits, poses, and expressions seem to be a look that we’ve never seen before.
According to Vogue Korea, the shoot was left in the Blackpink singer’s hands. From the conception of the shoot, to the theme between hair, makeup, and clothes, Jennie organized it all.
Vogue Korea released this statement on the K-pop star’s fashion editor debut: “Jennie has taken photo shoots as a model, but this is the first time she has participated in photo shoots as a planner, deciding on her own concept and deciding on hair and makeup drafts, including styling.”
It seems pretty clear to us that Jennie has a knack for fashion styling and planning. The photos not only showcase Jennie’s modeling chops, but also her attention to detail, style, and concept-planning.
This debut didn’t come as a complete shocker though, because earlier in 2018, Jennie had previously expressed an interest in professions in the fashion world.
When asked in an interview what she would do if she weren’t an idol, Jennie replied with the answer “magazine editor” or “fashion designer”.
Well, we’re happy the incredibly talented Blackpink singer chose to pursue this dream! We hope to see Jennie’s contribution in more upcoming photo shoots.
